Back to belly for real!

Okay, so she will roll over from front to back if you make her(hates it) and has been caught only a handful of times attempting to go from back to belly BUT last night Graydon put her down to bed on her belly and this morning i went to check on her at 5 a.m. and she was on her belly facing another direction! So i rolled her back over and gave her her lovie and paci and she went back to bed. Then when she woke up at 7:30 she was on her belly again facing a totally different direction! Yeah Allie Harris! She was a litte confused as to what she had done and where she was but we are so proud of her. Every baby just does things on their own time and i have learned you can't try to make them do anything. If they are happy, healthy and sleep well then you are blessed beyond belief and they will do all they need to do in their own time! We are all so lucky to have these wonderful little babies in our lives- Murphy, Allie Harris, Hastings, Jackson, Lucy Kate, Bryant...The list could go on and on!

Future's so Bright...

Her future's so bright, she's gotta wear shades! Ha! Allie Harris came to visit mommy at work on Wednesday and it was such a beautiful, sunny day so she just had to wear her protective gear! The funniest part, she doesn't mind the sunglasses. In fact when she sees herself in the mirror with them on she loves it. Does that surprise you that my child loves to look at herself in the mirror?! I'll ask her, "Who's that pretty girl?" and she looks at herself and smiles! Such a ham!

Jackson Ryan Christopher!!!

Our friends Hannah and Jeremy had their little baby boy last week and he is precious! His name is Jackson Ryan Christopher and his big sister is Ava Kate...What a blessing and we are so extactic about his arrival!

Happy First Easter!!!

We had our first family Easter and it was wonderful! Allie Harris looked precious in her dress from LaLa and she was good during church! I love holidays at church because everyone brings there little ones and we get to see people we haven't seen in a while...

On Saturday before Easter we went to the First United Methodist Easter Egg Hunt at the O'keefe's house. Allie Harris had a great time and there were so many kids there! Mom, i know you are laughing right now at the enormous bonnett but she did look so cute!

My new Big Girl Seat

Hanging out in her new BRIGHT BIG GIRL carseat! They only had Black velvet (hot as heck) or the pink, so natuarally i went with the bright one! She loves it and it is so funny to see her in it, it's like a luxury recliner!!! She kicks back and rides along happy as can be! It goes up to 65 lbs so we went ahead and got the whole shebang so we wouldn't have to get another one.

Easter Party For JA

On Tuesday we had a JA Easter Party for kids in Clarksdale at the Library. I felt bad because we were there setting up and Aubrey brought Allie Harris dressed all cute to get her picture taken with the bunny but it was so freaking hot in there she got sick and turned beet red before the bunny arrived. So, we had to leave. I just couldn't bare to look at her all sweaty and uncomfortable any more!

Party!!!

So this weekend we were throwing a party for Vince and Kate in Jackson, Mississippi. We decided to go a little early and get to the end of the St. Paddy's day parade, which is sooooo much fun! I couldn't believe how many people were there! I mean thousands upon thousands all in green. It is like Mardi Gras but all in green! Crazy floats with people dressed up throwing beads and blaring music. Of course we had a great time seeing everyone and can't wait to see you all again soon!Here are a few pics...

This is a precious picture of Russell, he is the son of a girl i knew in college named Heather Russell. I guess you see where his name came from! He is two weeks older than Allie Harris and he is even bigger than her! He is blinded by the sun here but he has the most beautiful big eyes and precious smile! I was so glad we got to see him...

Letting go...

Okay so i have to be sad for one moment...I know Allie Harris is growing up and there is nothing i can do about it but i had my first moment that i am having a hard time letting go of! Every night at bedtime i rock Allie Harris and sing to her and she immediately plops her head on my shoulder and falls asleep. It is like our little quiet time moment together. Well, i am sad this morning because as of this weekend, she no longer wants to fall asleep while rocking. She wants you to put her down and let her be in her bed to fall asleep. I know this is a good thing, but i am so upset about her not needing me anymore! (Meghan i know you can empathise with me, can i get a little comfort from another mother!!! i know you understand my sorrows!) And i know you all think i am so ridiculous for being so sad about it, but you just wait and see how it makes you feel!!! It is only the beginning of her detaching from me and wanting her daddy more than her mommy : ( I will live and i will be okay but i will miss my baby snuggling under my neck while she rubs my lip and falls into a deep sleep for 12 hours...

Allie Harris obviously doesn't like something about this song! Aubrey and i decided it is the tune of it how it goes up kind of funny in an off key. She gets upset and sad when you start singing it. I know it is awful, so we only did it to be able to video it! Guess we won't be singing "California..." anymore!

6 month doctor visit...

Okay so we went to the doctor yesterday for our 6 month ( a little late!) check up. Allie Harris was wonderful! She weighs 17 1/2 lbs and is 28 1/2 inches long! Dr. Wells said she so much longer than her weight (if that makes sense to y'all). I think they said her head is 43? Oh well! She also had to get her finger pricked and 3 shots : ( . I felt awful for her. The older they get the more the longer that little cry seems to last, but she hung in there and toughed it out! Every parent is always worrying about how well their child is doing, and we are so proud of her because Dr. Wells said she is so Neurologically advanced (that makes me laugh just saying it!) I don't even know if i spelled that correctly! She is smarter than me already! I know she probably just says this to everyone but it does make you feel good about your baby! She said for a first baby at six months she already pushes herself up on her own and stands up, transfers things from hand to hand and sits up pretty much on her own too that she is doing great! Just have to brag on our little lady!!!!! Dr. Wells also called her our "full figured little girl!" And that she passed her mommas petite side a long time ago! I hope she is tall like her daddy, i couldn't believe Dr. Wells called her that!!!!!

Her new "smile," it is too funny! She can be doing anything and if you hold up the camera and say smile for the camera she just stops and smiles! Oh no, a priss pot on our hands for sure.

Here trying her best to reach her mouth with the sippy cup, which did finally make it there. But once it got there she decided she didn't like the taste of the top part! You just can't win!

I know this face is so sad, it makes me sad to look at it but i just had to take a pic of it! She is turning in to Little miss priss (or abby jr.) and we were trying to make her hold her bottle on her own. This was the result, huge awful tears! She knows how to get her way, by curling that lip under and puling out those tears...

Pajama days

Graydon went to his friend Rowlands bachelor party on saturday so Allie Harris and I played in our pajamas most of the day! I did get to run but put my pj's back on so we could be lazy together! We had a great time and got to play alllllllll day long! Here are a few shots of her rocking on her Elephant and talking to her toys...

At first she was not too sure of the rocking elephant, but she quickly warmed up to him! I have to hold on to her so she doesn't go flying off! Once she learned that she could rock it front to back she wanted to do it by herself...

REAL snow!

This is the FIRST real snow that we have had here since Graydon and i have been married! So we tried to take advantage, even though it was windy as heck! It snowed 4 inches on friday and all melted by noon saturday. Oh well, atleast for a moment it was beautiful! Allie Harris didn't know what to think about the stuff hitting her face but she seemed to enjoy it all bundled up. I love, love, loved the snow! Thank you Lord for the wonderful snow, if only for one day!

Blue is my color...

I know i talk about her all the freaking time, but i just think she is beautiful! Doesn't every mom think that their little one is the most beautiful baby in the world?! We had been playing a lot and she got hot so her little cheeks got rosy and her eyes looked even more blue! Our little happy girl! She loves to talk to everyone she comes in contact with and she loves to smile all the time. It warms our hearts every time she just looks at us and smiles so big! She is growing so much too! This is an 18 month and fits her perfectly! I am pretty sure she will be taller than me, which is not too hard to accomplish!

She looks so sweet in baby blue because it really shows off her pretty eyes. We also finally got the rug down in her room and it is great. We can play in her room now and not have to walk all the way to the front!!! Thank you DeDe! She also loves her little Pink Poodle from Veazey Hillmer. We just talk to it and pet it like it is real!

After her nightly bath, chilling on her changing table. She has this new thing, i swear she does sit ups! It is too funny! Her little stomach muscles flex and she looks up to see what is going on around her. DeDe thought it was hilarious and could not believe that she could do that! What can i say, she is a genius!!! Just kidding!

After a daiper change in one of my pretty new outfits from my DeDe and Dibs. They found all kinds of cute stuff for little miss priss!

She gets kinda shy when you put the camera in front of her or she'll just stare at it. But she has so much to say and it is funny to watch her try to piece it all together...

DeDe is here!

Allie Harris and I were blessed by a wonderful visit from my mommy and her DeDe! We had such a great time together and mom got to play with Allie Harris all day while i was working hard. I can't thank her enough for coming down and staying with us while dad was away. We went to memphis shopping, cooked good food and had some cheap wine! The wine was pretty nasty to be honest but it was still wine!!! I also got to have a little heart to heart with mom about all kinds of stuff and all i have to say is love you and thank you mom for opening my eyes and heart! I will make it and I know how lucky and blessed I am to have all these wonderful things surrounding me. Love you, these pics are for you!

Visit from DeDe!!!

We were so happy to have DeDe, and she even stayed an extra day to keep us company while Graydon was out of town! Allie Harris just talked up a storm and showed off for her all weekend long. Here they are two peas in a pod! They hung out together like this all day and night!
